Listed here gold, silver, palladium, copper and alloy leaf and foil, and silver wire.
Leaf and Foil are very thin and delicate, therefore, only sold by the book. Foil is substantially thicker than Leaf and a lot easier to handle. Still, both require careful handling. If not dealt with properly, gold and silver leaf will burn off in the flame, whereas foil will tolerate being left in the flame longer. Palladium, even though a leaf, is nearly impossible to burn off when applied properly.
Fine (.999 pure) Silver Wire and Strips are used to draw dots, stripes and countless other silver designs on glass while working it in the torch. Also used in fuming. Only fume with adequate ventilation and proper instruction.
