Bullseye Rods and Stringer Information
Bullseye Hot Rodz
for lampworking range in size from 4 to 6 mm in diameter, are approximately 17" long and are sold by the pound. There are from 16 to 24 rods per pound, depending upon diameter.

Stringers are very thin rods of glass and are now available in two sizes. The original stringer measures from 0.7 to 1.2 mm in diameter, with an average of 1 mm. The new size stringer measures from 01.7 to 2.2 mm in diameter, with an average of 2 mm in diameter. Packaged and sold by the tube, the 1 mm stringer tubes contain about 190 to 200 pieces. The 2 mm stringer tubes contain about 55 to 60 pieces. Approximate length, 17½".

Opalescent colors can range in density from Translucent to Opaque.

Streaky rods provide a marbled quality that can vary in opacity, even during a single production run

Lustre colors contain precious metals and produce a metallic sheen. The glass is worked in the usual way, using a neutral glass, not letting the glass get too hot. After the glass piece is finished, adjust the torch to a slightly reducing flame and quickly, but gently, coax out the metallic luster. The finish will have a look similar to hematite.

Schott is an exceptionally clear glass that is compatible with Bullseye glass when used for lampworking. Do not use for fusing. 5 mm in diameter, 15" long and sold by the pound. 10 mm is also available by request.
